Summary:
DDU (District Detective Unit) is a four part crime drama series investigating the murky underworld of crime, and its heartbreaking and tragic impact on Irish society. The series revolves around the Unit – a group of local detectives whose lives are permanently changing as they are exposed to the harsh underbelly of the Celtic Tiger.
The early episodes explore the desperate realities of prostitution and the devastating effect of child abuse focusing on the affects of retribution by the victim. Episode three and four deals with the ever increasing problem of immigration and what happens when a Romanian family forced to leave their homeland, become embroiled in somebody else’s criminal plans.
